Bat mode

Time for you, not them.

You already give your job hours it doesn’t pay for. Bat mode is where you take some back: short focus rounds for the things you’re building for yourself, kept as carefully as your working hours.

Bat mode: today's mission says you've given your employer 8h 16m this week, so give yourself 30 minutes, with a list of personal goals

How it works

Pick a goal. Run a round. Write down what you did.

  1. 01

    Pick a goal

Start with a side business, content, study, fitness or ideas, or add your own. Each goal keeps its own running total.

  2. 02

    Run a 20-minute round

Start the timer and put your phone down. A 5-minute break follows each round, and a longer one every fourth, so you keep going without burning out.

  3. 03

    Write down what you did

Every round goes in your journal with a line about it, so you can look back week by week at what you’ve actually built.

Why it works

Small rounds, most days, adding up to something real.

Big goals stall because there’s never a free evening. Bat mode doesn’t ask for one: it asks for twenty minutes, and keeps count.

A daily mission

Your job got its hours. Now you get yours.

HRme knows how much of your week has gone to work, so Bat mode asks for something back: 30 minutes for yourself today, or 40 on a home working day, since you skipped the commute.

Today’s mission

You’ve given your employer 8h 16m this week. Give yourself 30 minutes.

Streaks and badges

Show up, and see it

A calendar marks every day you put time in. Keep it going for badges at 3, 7 and 14 days in a row, and share your streak to your story when you’re proud of it.

The compound effect

It adds up faster than you think

130 hours

Thirty minutes a day doesn’t feel like much. Across a working year it’s 130 hours: more than five whole days spent on your own thing.

Live Activity

Leave the app, keep the countdown

While a round runs, the time left sits in the Dynamic Island and on your Lock Screen, so you can stay off your phone and still know where you are.

The expanded Dynamic Island during a Bat mode round: 19:41 left, Side business, 20 minutes for you The same countdown as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen: Side business, 19:21 left of 20 minutes

Journal

A record of what you built

Rounds are grouped by week, each with its goal, its minutes and your note. Filter by goal to see how far one project has come.
